We publish your book through your own personal account, which you establish with our distribution partner, IngramSpark. In addition to a complimentary Escarpment Publishing ISBN, you retain 100% of your royalties and maintain complete control over your pricing, book descriptions, and orders into the future.
You have full control over how much editing is done and how the finished product will look, but you get the benefit of professional advice to help you make wise choices in accordance with industry standards.
This is step one of our Self-publishing Apprenticeship path (for authors who know they will be publishing more than one book). Our assisted self-publishing option is step 2 of the apprenticeship. In step 3, you’re doing it yourself, but we’re still here to provide professional level editing and book design and as consultants.
If you have a non-fiction or children’s book you want published, or if you just want 100% royalties and full control over your book publishing project, but you don’t want to do the work of publishing yourself, then Escarpment Publishing’s full publishing service is right for you.
Note that books we publish will be required to meet basic standards of proficiency, must have socially responsible content and any claims made in non-fiction must be backed up by research. We don’t publish academic works or anything that encourages or promotes prejudice, violence, conspiracy theories, misinformation or cults of any kind.
A Few Details
- Costs and details are the same as for our parent hybrid-publishing company, Alkira Publishing. Please read the Publication Pricing section under the Pricing and Royalties section of our submissions page.
- Your book can be for public sale via stores such as Amazon, or it can be a private unlisted publication – perfect for family histories and personal memoirs. We have published many more books than what you see listed here.
- Books for public sale have worldwide distribution through Ingram Spark. Readers can order the book through any bookstore worldwide, and the book will be listed in all major online stores. The book will not automatically appear in physical bookstore, just in internet stores, but you can approach any store and arrange for them to stock it if they’re willing.
- Though we set the RRP price with the distributor, we have no control over what price will appear in any bookstore.

- You retain all copyright.
- Our publishing agreement is nonexclusive and lasts until the publication date. Ongoing royalties go directly into whatever account you indicated in your set up with Ingram Spark.
